Resident Research
The Resident Research website provides timely and relevant information to incoming research residents, guiding their choice of a research pathway and research mentor and showcasing their work. The Department of Surgery Research Committee advises residents about selection of research training programs, including didactic training, monitors residents’ progress, and tracks the success of the training programs.
Research Pathways
To accommodate the diversified academic interests of our residents, we have developed five broad research pathways modeled after the GME "Pathways to Discovery" program. Each has a designated pathway leader who is responsible for meeting with and advising residents interested in that research area. The pathway leader will also maintain an up-to-date list of funding sources applicable to that research area. Pathway leaders are members of the resident research committee, whose membership will be continuously reinvigorated by inviting new faculty so as to reflect the breadth and diversity of our resident research portfolio.
